My husband and I recently got home from our anniversary trip celebrating three years of marriage. Where did we go? Leavenworth, Washington. It was a lovely trip and I just wanted to share a few photos and favorites of the week!
If you have wanted to go to Leavenworth and wondered if it is worth it, the answer is yes! We had such a fun time and really enjoyed the scenery!
If you love nature and hiking, there are so many great spots to tromp through the woods. We didn’t end up doing much of that, but we did drive to Icicle Gorge hiking trail and it was beautiful!
We decided on a favorite coffee shop in town that we wished we tried sooner! It’s called J5 coffee and it is by far the best coffee served in Leavenworth. Unfortunately though, we got the coffee to go since there isn’t an atmosphere for sitting in.
We loved the experience we had with Leavenworth Outdoor Center! We went on a private tour down the Icicle and Wenatchee river while paddle boarding. It was Jake’s first time paddle boarding and it was so much fun and so, so pretty!
We ate at a few different restaurants, some of which we decided were worth eating at more than once. South – A delicious Latin American style restaurant with a great outdoor space. The Wok About Mongolian Grill. YUM all around! We also ate at a really good breakfast place called Louie’s that served the normal breakfast-y foods, but with extra flavor and good prices. We stopped off at a few different wine tasting rooms and cider houses. We decided that we really liked Bushel & Bee. The atmosphere was nice!
We decided to splurge a little and go Zip lining! It was SO fun and a great decision. The service was really great and we even got a little history lesson from Leavenworth Ziplines about the valley where all the lines are and the 6 generations that built it. We did the 9 line tour and it was worth it. The longest line was 1,409 feet long!!! No one else had signed up that day except us, so we got a private tour, again! The starting point was in this beautiful lodge and on our way home we drove by the cute little original homestead in Plain, WA, the valley where Leavenworth Ziplines exists.
Overall, we had a really lovely trip! We went at the beginning of June so it wasn’t too crowded and the weather was decent. The riverfront park was one of our favorite views and the little town of Leavenworth couldn’t be a sweeter place to visit!
I hope you will consider visiting Leavenworth.
