Joy in a bottle?

Joy in a bottle? There is no such thing. Or is there? Joy comes from the heart. Joy comes from being in the presence of the Lord (Psalm 16:11). However, did you know that there really is a bottle labeled “Joy”? There is some neat science behind the way essential oils work, and there are ways that essential oils can in fact, encourage feelings of joyfulness.

Young Living has an essential oil blend of Bergamot peel oil (Furocoumarin-free), Ylang ylang flower oil, Geranium flower oil, Lemon peel oil, Coriander seed oil, Tangerine peel oil, Jasmine oil, Roman chamomile flower oil, Palmarosa oil, and Rose flower oil called Joy.

The first time I used this oil it had quite the impact on me. For starters, I really didn’t like the way it smelled. At all. It was way too floral for me. But what is funny is that while I was diffusing it I really noticed my joyfullness being supported. If I am completely honest, this was a good while ago (when I was still just getting to using essential oils), and I didn’t like how well it worked! I didn’t want to believe that something like essential oils could work so well. Needless to say, now days I use essential oils every day and am a believer. The more I use this blend, the more I like it. It’s neat to know that there really is a science behind why essential oils work and that I am not crazy.
