Recently I have been thinking about my skin and what kind of oils I like to use on it. This led me to looking up my beauty school notes and quickly researching some of the other essential oils out there that are good for my skin, and also other skin types. Here’s what I found.
I have very dry skin. All. the. time. It’s no fun, but here is what I like to do to soothe and nourish it. I take 4 drops of Myrrh essential oil (EO) and 4 drops of carrot seed EO and drop it into 2 cups of Epsom salt, 1/4 cup of soda, and about a tablespoon of fractionated coconut oil and let absorb for about 5 minutes. Then I dump it into my bath and enjoy a warm soothing aroma and nourished skin.
Beauty school taught me to use oils on my face like lavender, frankincense, and myrrh because of their moisturizing benefits.
I also really enjoy using the Essential Beauty Serum from Young Living for my dry face. I soak all my problem spots with it and it seems to be helping. I also enjoy the smell.
Oily skin produced too much oil for your needs, and these essential oils are what I found to be the best in regulating over oil production.
Breakouts and blemishes.
One thing I have learned from experience is that purification essential oil blend (EOB) is super helpful for unwanted zits and pimples. Some other oils that are helpful are
- Melaleuca Alternifolia (tea tree)
Frankincense is a must when it comes to aging skin. It is well known for reducing the appearance of fine lines and also helps with stretch marks. Manuka EO is also really great for helping to brighten the skin. I recently purchased Young Living’s ART skin care system and I am loving it so far. If you’re not a DIY kind of person check it out. Young Living offers a nice selection of facial care items that you don’t have to make yourself!
Rose Essential Oil
Rose oil is know as the queen of all skincare and beauty routines. Rose essential oil is one of the best oils you can use on your skin, and is great for blemishes and overall beauty for any skin type.
That’s all for now. I hope you enjoyed learning something new! Happy Saturday!
