Recently I attended Young Living Beauty School. Young Living Beauty School is a weekend seminar put on through Young Living corporate, and teaches distributors about Young Living products and beauty care.
I didn’t really know what to expect when I bought my ticket, however I am so thankful that I decided to go. I have never really been all about that beauty routine, and I used to almost never wear makeup, let alone have a skin care routine. After returning home and stewing on the information that I brought with me, I decided that I wanted to share a few things that stood out to me.
Beauty is not just what you see on the outside
I was so pleased to listen to the speakers emphasize that beauty comes from within, and then because of what’s within, you can then shine that beauty in an outward way. This means so much more than just being a “good” person. It has to do with faith, nutrition, habits, exercise, skin care routine, and product usage.
The products you are putting on your skin are leeching into your whole body system
Young Living was very careful to emphasize that what you put on your skin is so important. I agree with this, because I have had first hand experience in this area with my extreme skin issues. Many companies don’t care about your health or what is in their ingredients if their product works, and they continue to sell. How sad is that? You have to be responsible and do the research for a well informed decision on what is safe for your skin, and overall body. The US alone has very few banned chemicals compared to other countries. Here’s a snip-it from http://www.safecosmetics.org/get-the-facts/regulations/international-laws/
“The EU law bans 1,328 chemicals from cosmetics that are known or suspected to cause cancer, genetic mutation, reproductive harm or birth defects. In comparison, the U.S. FDA has only banned or restricted 11 chemicals from cosmetics.”
Young Living is always researching what is safe and beneficial to our bodies when it comes to their skin care products. At beauty school we specifically learned about their ART skin care system products, and how to use them. I have never been a skin care routine kind of gal, but after learning about the ART skin care system I want to be.
Within the last several years I have been pretty careful with what I put into my body through diet and supplementation (which was a big component of Young Living beauty school) but I haven’t really paid much attention to a routine for my skin externally. I have always been afraid of lotions and toners and things you can buy at the store, ever since my huge breakout. I just wanted some relief by moisturizing my dry skin and calling it good.
After using the ART skin care system from Young Living for just a few days I could really feel a difference. My skin on my face feels so much more nourished already. I am still hesitant, but I am testing this ART thing out. I encourage you to check it out here.
Essential oils play a role in skin care
Skilled and controlled use of essential oils help achieve a harmonious well-being.
Essential oils are not “miracles” but they are able to balance your system and lifestyle in your body. Why? All living things contain carbon. Essential oils have carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur. Chemically, essential oils work as a compound and effect; alcohols can tone/energize etc.
What’s the benefit of essential oils in skin care?
Skin care products work as the carrier, while essential oils help to balance the limbic system and the skin. Essential oils can support how you feel and behave because they balance your body.
You can’t avoid it, but it’s up to you how you cope with it, how you behave and how you treat and perceive yourself. We often remember ourselves as younger. The older we are the younger we often think of ourselves. Mentally we feel young. It doesn’t matter how old you are, we often want to make ourselves beautiful, it’s the need of women. Am I right?
What is beauty? How are you teaching what it is? Is is just how you look or is it a combination of things? I believe beauty is emotional, spiritual and physical. If behavior is showing something missing in your heart, you might not be perceived as so beautiful. From the inside to out; that’s how beauty starts.
Skin care tips:
Focus on healthy skin (at any age)
Limit your sun exposure
Wash your face before you sleep
Do not smoke
Use natural products (safe and good for you)
Give your skin the nutrition it needs (research, study, learn) Remember this is also internal nutrition etc.
So there you have it (well, some of it, I could go on and on but I’ll spare you)! If you have any tips for healthy skin and whole body wellness would you share them in the comments? Thanks for reading!
