The other day I tried my hand at making some homemade Marshmallows. For those of you who follow me on Instagram and happened to see my story that day, I said that if they turn out, I’d post the recipe on my website.
It just so happens that they did turn out and that they were AMAZING! Kudos to Laura, the gal who’s website I found the recipe on, for sharing with the world some really tasty, allergy friendly marshmallows. Check out the recipe here.
I wanted to write up a little post about this recipe because, if you’re like me, maybe you had no idea that making your own marshmallows was even possible! I was amazes at how simple the ingredients were, and how easy the recipe was to make.
The recipe impressed me because there was no dairy or processed sugars in the marshmallows, and I had just always assumed that you couldn’t make marshmallows without those two ingredients.
The texture of the marshmallows was great, the flavor was delicious, and the overall quality of the mallows was superb! The only down side to making these, is that they don’t really roast over a fire. These marshmallows tend to melt more than roast, but if you love marshmallows in your hot cocoa, or as a mallow cream frosting etc. these are top notch.
Next time I make them, I am going to try my own twist by adding vitality essential oils for new and unique flavored marshmallows. YUM!
